Scavenger Spotlight
Are you a Cincinnati native?
No, I am not a Cincinnati native. I’m from Chicago and moved to Cincy when my husband was given the opportunity to launch his school network here. He’s a native!
What’s your favorite part about Cincinnati?
My favorite part about Cincinnati is the views! I love the landscape at the parks, the street art, and the charming historical neighborhoods.
Favorite spots in Cincinnati?
FC Cincinnati! Going to games at the new stadium was so much fun! I cannot wait until we can go to events again.
Favorite neighborhood?
I’m a little biased as I recently purchased a home in the Historic East End. I enjoy watching this neighborhood grow. I also really love the diversity and the restaurants in OTR, the farmers’ market in Hyde Park, and the cherry trees in Ault Park.
How do you spend your time (your work, your passions, your ways of working through the pandemic)?
I am a former educator and presently work in education management. Cincinnati’s weather makes it easy to be outside riding bikes, hiking, and exploring the different neighborhoods. When work is over, I like to spend time gardening, checking out new restaurants, and attending festivals.
What are you currently reading (this can be anything, not just a book)?
One of my favorite people recently mailed me City of Girls which I am reading at this time. I’m also into A Course in Miracles, Atomic Habits, and The Book of Moods.
What drew you to UCBC?
I stumbled upon UCBC when I first moved here. It started by following a variety of Cincinnati-related bloggers to find fun things to do. I'm an avid reader and LOVED the concept. It gave me an opportunity to explore my new city while belonging to a community of readers.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I thoroughly love UCBC and cannot wait to be a part of the next book club!
